This is one of the best campaigns I’ve seen in a long time, and I’ve been hooked by it - already looking into ordering myself a set of these pens! I can’t quite believe these figures are real, the detail on them is beyond incredible. I love how simple the ads are, just the single image and the pen in the corner, with no need for taglines or massive logos. This is only possible because of how strong the concepts are – the ideas behind the images are so witty and clever.

The pen used is the Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.25 mm pen

This beautiful concept electric bike comes from Art Tic, a Barcelona based design team with a trademark of imaginative, retro, and impeccably crafted designs. Like most retro things, it is 70s inspired, taking its form from the monocoque Ossa bike ridden by Santiago Herrero. It is timelessly iconic, and I suspect would become an instant classic were it to reach mass-production. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the oversized headlight to the straps holding the chassis together, all of which make this unique bike immediately recognisable.

Hate the brand, love the packaging. It manages to be retro, iconic and completely timeless. The bottle that is now the most famous was actually created in 1915, some 20 years after the product itself. It was created by Earl R. Dean of the Root Glass Company following a competition Coca-Cola held to find a design theat was instantly recognisable even in the dark or if broken. The design was meant to be based on the two main ingredients of Coca-Cola: the kola nut and cocoa leaf, but due to a lack of references Dean instead chose the cocoa pod as his main influence. The shape is especially clever because it shows through whatever graphic is placed on top of it, making a bottle recognisable as a Coke bottle even without a logo or other branding.

The history of the company is actually also quite interesting, but is also too long to put into a post, so for much better information than I can be bothered to provide, see here.

There are a lot of good Coke bottles, so click here for more.
